  • Merry Christmas!!

I want a white Christmas tree

Chris wanted to get a Christmas tree this year but I don't know where we will put it since our place is not that big! I want a nice size white Christmas tree with bright colourful decorations. Maybe we will do it next year, after we get a locker and move everything down ~~

My MBA is over!! We still have our final project on the go because it was delayed but I am done with my courses! So finally I can xanga again. Missed this so much; Missed my friends so much; Missed shopping at lunch so much; Missed just being a bum so much!! All weekend, I sat in front of the TV with Chris watching Chinese soaps

We also went downtown to shop for gifts ~~ Chris doesn't li
ke carrying changes so he unloads them in a container everytime we get home. He counted it over the weekend and guess what - $397!! For some reason I feel like I have an extra $397 to spend!!  I am very anal about our saving targets every month because I want to be able to splurge as much as we can during our Asia trip and also for our wedding ... so when we have extra $ like that, my innate nature to shop till I drop comes back out.

    But sadly, most of th
e stuff we got were for the home and for Didi!! Am I already turning into a housewife???  Well, I am not worried ... I am sure shopping for myself is something I can easily catch back on again ~~

    Our Didi ...

    My horribly b!tchy
boss is on vacation for more than a month!! This is also one reason why I am in such a great mood. That woman simply drives me up the wall!!!! My Christmas wish is that she never comes back  Seriously, she is close to retirement age and she spend more time complaining about body aches and going to doctor's appointments than working ... so it is about time she retires - seriously.

  • New Addition to our Home ...

    Didi

This is Didi, our new puppy. She is the sweetest little thing.

We got her a week ago and when we first saw her, her adorable ways just melted us.

Since we got all the amazing channels, we got hooked to the show called "The Dog Whisperer", and it now comes in handy. Chris has been using all the different strategies to train our little Didi. The first little success so far is that rather than running ahead of us, Didi lets us go first whenever we enter or exit the elevator. Apparently this is important because we need to let her recognize who is the packleader.

Didi just got spade a couple of days ago and is now wearing a cone around her head to keep her from chewing off her stitches. My colleague (who has two dogs) told me we need to make sure Didi does not jump because it can rip her stitches from the inside. Uh-Oh, she was jumping all over the place since last night.

We have been spoiled parents - she goes out for walks at least 3 times a day ... it's actually Chris. He insists on taking her outside so she can run around, so she is now accustomed to only doing her business outside. I am just imagining how we will do this on rainy or snowy days!?

By the way, she is a pretty bright puppy ... I see her tilting her head and using her brains ... probably thinking of ways to get whatever she wants us. Last night, she insisted on sleeping on the pillows on our couch ... and she was so cute we let her ...

  • Living Together ...

Finally we are living together in our first home. All I can say is that I feel very fortunate and I look forward to going home every night.

This is like a dream come true. Living in a loft, buying all the furniture and home decors I want (I am actually very proud of ourselves in how we can afford so much ... we did save a lot - the hard work pays off), leaving work together, dinner in front of TV together, going to bed at night together ... so this is how it will be from now on!!

Well, I imagine that this will get quite boring overtime, haha ... note that Chris is a pretty boring guy to begin with!! ... but I guess stability is a luxury many people want, and something I have always wanted, so I shouldn't be complaining.

One major thing I am enjoying most is turning on the AC the moment I get home
I am an AC girl ... I hate the heat ... back when I was living with my parents, we only turn on the AC at night when it was very hot. For me, it is always hot in the summer

Now one thing is off our shoulders. Next is to start looking into wedding-related stuff *finally* ... but this is really nothing compared to the search and move to our first home > which is way more important to me  At times I even imagine just getting the marriage certificates to get it over with!! I guess I will look forward to it a lot more after my MBA (4 more months only!!) ... it is probably just because there is too much going on now that my mindset became so practical! ... I will go back to being the girl living in a fairytale as I get more off my plate. I mean, when you don't even have enough time to sleep, you really don't have time to dream.

Birthday party @ our new place this weekend
That time of the year again! ... already!! The first year I didn't start planning two months ahead! I didn't even remember until last week when Mish reminded me!! Thanks dear - my forever party coordinator (and ENGLISH MC for my wedding - you know who you are, the CHINESE MC )!! Look forward to seeing my dear friends!

Larry, A&J and their gang already saw our new home when they visited last weekend. I thought it was only the 3 of them but it ended up being a group of 7 people! A little pleasant surprise there - lucky we bought so many glasses!! ... actually too many, enough for a party of 30 - don't ask me why ... haha.

  • Moved into our LOFT!

    Mixed emotions:

    • ... happy - finally our own place.
    • ... excited - so much I want to do to make it my home.
    • ... scared - I am no longer under my parents' wings.
    • ... nervous - I am no longer just my parents' daugther and my sisters' sister. I am also Chris' other half, responsible for building this home.

Physically, I am drained. I have never been so tired in my life. I almost didn't even have enough strength to shower.

    In just 7 days, we:

    • went to the lawyer and got the closing.
    • painted the entire loft.
    • had the guys finished installing new flooring and redid our cabinets (which took 3 days!).
    • got curtains custom-made and installed.
    • cleaned.
    • had all the furnitures delivered and installed.
    • got cable and internet (one of the first things we did! )
    • packed.
    • moved in.
    • ... still unpacking.

Lucky that Chris is the most amazing partner ... he got up a lot earlier than me and started working. I simply had trouble even lifting my arm in the mornings after so much work!

But we did have arguments about closet space, haha - I ended up taking up the entire walk-in closet and we had to go buy another stand-alone closet for Chris. He is still bugging me about how unbelievable it is that I have so much clothing - that he claims I never wear ............ and how he only has less than 1/4 of what I have  It is just unrealistic to compare men and women in terms of wardrobe!! ...

Also, The Bay delivered our fridge but our stove is on backorder until Aug 1st!!  We got them back a month ago so this is pathetic!! Frozen food, microwave food, and pizza for another week!!

A 40% paper due next week too! Not yet started ... don't even know where all my school stuff are ...

  • Great First Term ...

Power and Politics in Organizations A

Business of Creativity in Cultural Sector A-

    Individual Study: Organizational Behaviour B+

    Happy

Now, I worry about this coming term ... the courses I have now are more structured ...

    So COLD today!!

It's already 2009 and time seems to be flying. We need to really begin thinking about the wedding stuff but I have absolutely no time for it

In 2009, we need to at least book the venue and potentially purchase our new home ...

Kind of worried now ... because both of the above need careful considerations and school is quite demanding

2010 will be a great year to look forward to because potentially my MBA will be over and I will be able to concentrate full-blownly into the wedding planning!! Can't wait!! Seems like that is only when my new life really begins. Until then, I don't even have enough brainpower left to think about life!

But again, don't take me wrong ... I love my classes and I am SO GLAD I am doing my MBA now! Just that it is actually quite crazy having so much in my mind at the same time
